Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is expecting more than 528,000 travelers to fly to and from its facility during the Thanksgiving holiday period Nov. 24 through Dec.1, officials announced Friday.
That translates to an average of 66,000 travelers daily during the 8-day travel period, and peak travel days are expected to be Saturday, Nov. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 1. Available airline seats are down two percent compared to the same period last year.
The airport’s parking lots are also expected to be busy during the holiday period, travelers should allow extra time for parking, airport officials said.
If leaving a vehicle at the airport, travelers may opt for valet service ($21/day), daily parking in the garages ($15/day), or Airport Economy Parking ($7.50/day).
