A few days ago FloriDUH posted an item about two women, accompanied by five young kids between the ages of 5-12, who had entered a Gymboree store in Fort Myers to go shopping.
But, instead of shopping, the two women used one of the kids to swipe another shopper's cellphone and wallet.
Here's the post: Women used kid to steal shopper's wallet, phone at store
Who could do such a thing?
Authorities have since identified Shanice Duanna Stewart, 25, as the suspect, according to the Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers's news release.
Stewart is no stranger to law enforcement: She is a registered convicted felon with an extensive criminal history dating back to her first felony for Grand Theft Auto when she was only 14-years-old. Since then Stewart has been jailed in Lee County after being arrested for such crimes as Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Dealing in Stolen Property, multiple counts of Theft, the relase stated.
Stewart has also spent time behind bars in both Collier and Manatee Counties, said Crime Stoppers.
Now she is once again a guest of the Lee County Jail, charged with Felony Grand Theft and possible other charges pending. This is Stewart's 18th booking into Lee County Jail, inmate records show.
She was arrested on July 26th and released the next day.
There are only 148 more shoplifting days to go until Christmas.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
