Double Trouble benefit at Arts Garage in Delray

Sun Sentinel Columnist

The Arts Garage in Delray Beach is staying put in its current home, thanks to recent approval by the city, and the worthwhile cultural center for bourgeoning and established musicians will host an upcoming benefit concert with local favorites Double Trouble on Dec. 29.

It's a touching holiday story, with the concert a way for Double Trouble (singing brothers Rashad and Tashad Gardenhire) to repay mentor/teacher Judy MacMahon for her earlier help. MacMahon's husband is ailing with cancer, and now the family has big medical bills.

The Dec. 29 concert will take place 7-9:30 p.m, and tickets cost $30 each. For tickets and more information, click here. Or call 561-450-6357. The Arts Garage is located at 180 NE 1st Street in Delray Beach.

Earlier this year, MacMahon helped the struggling brothers in their musical quest by driving them to Charleston, S.C., twice for auditions on Simon Cowell's X Factor. The Gardenhires call her Momma J. You can read my earlier blog about them here. And a column that I wrote in August here.
