January 12, 1986: Patriots 31, DOLPHINS 14

One of the worst losses in franchise history. Dolphins--and NFL--fans could not wait to see Dan Marino and his high-flying offense travel to New Orleans in Super Bowl XX for a rematch with the Chicago Bears indoors on the artificial turf. Miami had handed Chicago--with its fearsome defense--its lone loss of the season a month earlier in what many call the best Monday Night Football game ever. Then, a strange thing happened. The Patriots trudged into a sodden Orange Bowl and collected six Dolphins turnovers, including four fumbles. The Bears would wax the Patriots 46-10 two weeks later. The disaster seemed to set the tone for the worst four-year span of the Don Shula era, where the team went 30-33.
