During the practice Wake wore sweatpants to possibly conceal a knee brace. He was involved in the individual portion of the practice, participating in the pass rushing drills with his fellow defensive linemen.
Wake, who sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee on the first defensive series of Sunday's 27-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, did sit out the one team portion the Dolphins showed the media.
His injury typically has a two to three week recovery period.
Dolphins defensive tackle Paul Soliai suffered a similar injury to his left knee in Miami's win over the Colts and sat out last Sunday's game. Soliai worked with Miami's trainers on the side and did not participate in Wednesday's practice.
Also sitting out Wednesday's practice was starting cornerback Dimitri Patterson, who has been nursing an injured groin since training camp. Patterson suffered a setback late last week and left practice, possibly to receive electronic stem treatment.
Dolphins linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, who has a pectoral and rib injury, participated in Wednesday's practice. Koa Misi, who missed most of the second half of the Falcons game because of a shoulder injury, also participated in the portions of Wednesday's practice the media watched.
