Patterson, who has pulled down four interceptions in the four games he's played this season, re-aggravated the groin injury he's been nursing since training camp.
Patterson sat Monday night's 22-19 loss to Tampa Bay, and his participation was limited during Wednesday's practice for Sunday's home game against the San Diego Chargers.
Patterson wasn't the only Dolphins player who sat out, or had their participation limited on Wednesday.
Rookie linebacker Jelani Jenkins (foot) sat out Wednesday session. Jenkins, who suffered the injury against the Bengals, didn't practice all last week, but was on the active roster for Monday night's game.
Rookie safety Jordan Kovacs, who was cut on Monday to elevate D.J. Campbell up from the practice squad, has returned to the team's practice squad....
New Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel, who has held his position since September, attended Monday's practice. Garfinkel runs the business side of the organization.
