Philbin's staff compensated for the absence of Martin and first-half injury of left guard Richie Incognito by using three tackles, including seldom-used Will Yeatman, at the same time. That not only helped keep Tannehill upright for most of the night, but it powered the running game. Offensive coordinator Mike Sherman also had Tannehill roll out to avoid the pass rush. The quick snap count enabled Tannehill to catch the Bengals on his 1-yard TD plunge in the second quarter. Once again the Dolphins coaches were outsmarted by the opposition's halftime adjustments as the Bengals went to the power running game to get back into the game.
