A flawed, inconsistent police response to sexual assault in Maryland

Feeling good

U.S. Rep. Clay Shaw smiles shortly after debating with state Sen. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton, at the Tower Club in Region Bank Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It was the first face-to-face debate of the campaign for incumbent Shaw's House seat. Until now, the campaign has been waged mostly through 30-second spots on the television airwaves. An unusually aggressive Shaw pressed Klein about his work as a lobbyist while Klein, who has spent much of the campaign depicting Shaw as a toady for the Bush administration, repeated his theme that it's time for a change and an end to an arrogant, corrupt Republican regime in Washington.
