Governor Charlie Crist talks with residents after his town hall meeting. He was in Fort Lauderdale at the Beach Community Center for a town hall meeting with the Galt Mile Community Association which includes 16,000 residents in 27 buildings. They had some hot-button political concerns. At the forefront, the liquefied natural gas terminal proposed for the ocean off Fort Lauderdale and beach renourishment residents want because of beach erosion. The governor is virtually certain to hear about the natural gas proposal, known as Calypso. Many residents of the Galt are adamantly opposed to the proposed natural gas project.
