Students in some engineering fields struggled to find jobs in 2009, but not the 41 graduates from electronic engineering programs at Florida A&M University and the University of Central Florida. About two-thirds had jobs in the state, averaging about $49,000, with several others pursuing advanced degrees. Electronic engineers build the circuits for high-tech devices such as iPads and smart phones.
