History buff Michael Bornstein, dressed in a historically authentic costume as a Barefoot Mailman, speaks to his daughter by telephone before beginning the walk to the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse. Bornstein, town manager for Lantana, said "People who live in Florida don't really know the history of this place. I just want to show them a little bit." The Barefoot Mailmen delivered mail on foot by the beach, because there were no roads, from 1885to 1893.
