Local U.S. Army All-Americans set to be honored

The Under-Armour All-American Game and U.S. Army All-American Bowl have been holding their all-star selection tours and have made several stops in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

In the next few weeks, there will be some more local Army All-Americans honored: Dwyer receiver Johnnie Dixon, American Heritage running back Sony Michel, Plantation quarterback Chris Lammons, Chaminade-Madonna defensive lineman Khairi Clark and University School linebacker Richard Yeargin III.

Dixon will officially be selected as an Army All-American at a ceremony at Dwyer on Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. Michel's ceremony at Heritage will be Friday at 3:15 p.m. Lammons' ceremony at Plantation will be Oct. 28 at 12:50 p.m., Clark's ceremony at Chaminade will be Oct. 29 at 10:20 a.m. and Yeargin's ceremony at University will be Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.

The U.S. Army All-American Bowl will be played Jan. 4 at 1 p.m. Eastern in San Antonio.
