3. Running game gets off to a good start, then dries up

Miami entered Sunday's game on pace to produce the franchise's worst rushing season, but the 120 yards the Dolphins gained on 25 carries proved that the rushing attack does have a pulse. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, the Bills turned down the volume on Daniel Thomas and Lamar Miller in the second half. Miami couldn't run the ball effectively at the goal line, and produced 4 yards on three carries in two critical fourth-quarter drives where the offense was trying to kill the clock to seal the game.
