Was working at UPS unloading trucks in Muncie, Ind., when he got an invitation to Dolphins training camp in 1992 and made the team by impressing on special teams. He parlayed that into a nine-year career with the Dolphins and Jets. In 1994, he was the Dolphins¿ leading rusher with 868 yards and six rushing touchdowns.

Now:
Tight ends coach with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2010, he began his coaching career as an assistant with the Dolphins from 2002-04. During five seasons at Notre Dame, he developed three of the top tight ends in school history. Son Tre Parmalee is a freshman wide receiver at the University of Kansas.
