Tori Spelling was revealed as the grand marshal of the 42nd annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade at a gala kickoff party Friday night at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.
An actress, author and designer, the former "90210" star is currently in production as the star and executive producer for the ABC Family series Mystery Girls.
Previous Winterfest grand marshals have included Deborah Norville, Barry Gibb, Brooke Burke, Kim Kardashian, Alonzo Mourning, Jim Belushi, Lorraine Bracco, Frankie Valli, Randy Jackson and Shaquille O'Neal.
The 12-mile parade of festively lighted boats and waterside homes takes place Dec. 14, starting on the New River in Fort Lauderdale and traveling to the Intracoastal north to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. More than 1 million spectators are expected to watch the festivities live, with millions more watching the telecast on WSVN-Ch. 7 hosted by Lynn Martinez.
Other celebrities scheduled to take part include Indy car racer Ryan Hunter-Reay, of Fort Lauderdale; Caroline Sunshine, of Disney Channel’s “Shake It Up”; and Santa Claus, of the North Pole.
Tickets for grandstand viewing in Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, which offers a festival with games and live music, are $25, $22 seniors/military, $20 children. For more information on Winterfest, call 954-767-0686 or go to WinterfestParade.com.
