The enduring popularity of Tegan and Sara (welcome evidence that, in fact, people are not all idiots) seems especially strong in South Florida, to which they return on March 12 at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale.
We love the girl-power poppycock of the recent hit single “Closer,” from the excellent album "Heartthrob" (just nominated for an album of the year Juno Award). We love tweets like: “Kitty Halftime Show > Super Bowl XLVIII.” And we love their casual, not-really-trying fashion, on vivid display with their new vegan shoe line at KeepCompany.com.
Each sister designed a limited-edition signature sneaker –– Tegan’s black, quilted, faux-leather “Homer”; Sara’s high-top “Guerra” featuring a cat motif from EE Storey –– that soon will be in stores, alas not in time for the show. But pre-orders for the shoes (likely to be released in May) are available through Feb. 11 at KeepCompany.com.
Advance tickets for the Revolution show go on sale 10 a.m. Wednesday at the box office (100 SW Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale), LiveNation.com and all Ticketmaster outlets. More info: JoinTheRevolution.net, 954-449-1025.
