SAIA Sushi and Asian Grill on Fort Lauderdale Beach launched new happy hour specials this past Tuesday. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. daily, draft beers start at $3 and half-carafes of sake cost $5. Signature cocktails cost $7 and are anything but Asian-inspired, except for the Hello Kitty, with gin and house-made spicy ginger soda. The Bettie Page mixes blueberries with jalapeno and agave nectar, and is much more adventurous than the Elizabeth Taylor, which has vodka, grape pucker and citrus juices. The pisco sour may be best paired with the scallop ceviche for $9. All rolls and small bites cost $10 or less, but the appetizer sampler goes for $15 and includes three kinds of sushi and a tempura roll.
Happy hour: 5:30-8 p.m. daily
Recommended drink: Bettie Page, with Hangar One blueberry vodka, cranberry and lime juices, agave nectar, fresh blueberries and jalapeno.
Location: SAIA Sushi, 999 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, 954-302-5252, SAIAsushi.com
