As the boys at the gym have made clear after witnessing your crossover: You have a better chance of kissing Larry O’Brien than the Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy. And Larry O’Brien’s dead.
But you can exact some revenge on Wednesday when Whiskey Tango (1903 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood) hosts the trophy, allowing fans to take pictures and get a little personal with the NBA’s holy grail, now property of the Miami Heat.
The 16-pound, Tiffany-created trophy (it’s sterling silver with 24-carat gold overlay) will be on display at Whiskey Tango beginning at 7 p.m., probably on the main stage in the back, according Amanda Felix, the bar’s curator of cool events.
Can you give it a big, LeBron-style smooch? Yes, you can, Felix says. Will she kiss it?
“Possibly,” she says. Oh, come on. Why wouldn’t you lay one right where LeBron… “OK, probably. Yes, I’ll probably kiss it,” she says, laughing.
The event, which will include giveaways and sports-talk wits Dan Le Batard and Stugotz of 790 The Ticket, is sponsored by Miller Lite and you can expect to find a bevy of Coors Light Girls (their bosses being MillerCoors) in the house.
