Jacqueline Palmer, 42, of Okeechobee, claimed the first $3 million top prize in the $3,000,000 Flamingo Fortune Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.
Palmer chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for her winnings, $2,493,752.05.
“I love to play Scratch-Off games and play as often as I can,” Palmer told lottery officials. “I have won several smaller amounts over the years but nothing that compares to this."
Palmer, pictured with her husband, purchased her winning ticket from St. Lucie West BP, located at 1620 SW Fountainview Blvd. in Port St. Lucie. There are two $3,000,000 top prizes remaining.
The game offers three top prizes of $3 million and ten prizes of $100,000. Top-prize winners of $3 million may choose either a one-time, lump-sum payment or annuity payments of $150,000 a year for 20 years.
Tickets are $20 each.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
