Marcia Ball at Bamboo Room

Marcia BallNPR

Marcia Ball: The Louisiana-raised swamp-blues and zydeco pianist is experiencing a creative peak these days, having collected a 2013 Living Blues Readers' Award for Most Outstanding Keyboardist — her ninth BMA — and four Grammy nominations, including one for her latest album, "Roadside Attractions." The simmering soul and muscular boogie-woogie ballads stamped out by the singer-songwriter have been heard on NPR's "Fresh Air" and at Austin City Limits, and she'll perform songs from the new album 9 p.m. Thursday at the Bamboo Room (25 S. J St., Lake Worth). $32-$37. 561-585-2583 or BambooRoomBlues.com. — Phillip Valys
