To help you lament the arrival of Valentine's Day, the Fillmore Miami Beach has booked British electro-pop trio the xx. At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the group will play quiet, bedroom-written songs that are strewn with longing lyrics about love.
Tickets for the xx were going for $41.50 on Ticketmaster.com, but the site claims the show is sold out. StubHub and street retailers will presumably charge more than twice the original price. Read an interview with the band's bassist at SouthFlorida.com/music.
Willie Nelson's appearance at the Seminole Hard Rock at 7:30 p.m. Thursday might be less melancholy, though Nelson's going around with the Willie Nelson and Family Old Farts and Jackass Tour. Tickets cost from $58 to $114.50.
To promote his new album, "Passione," and to bring a different set of love songs to South Florida, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will sing at the BB&T Center at 8 p.m. Friday. His latest work includes duets with Jennifer Lopez and Nelly Furtado, but it will just be Bocelli's voice you'll hear Friday. Tickets cost from $91.50 to $398.75.
And for the skankin' crowd, Revolution Live will host the ska band Reel Big Fish on Saturday. After 22 years on the job, RBF's Aaron Barrett still sports Elvis-style muttonchops while singing lines filled with youthful disdain. Tickets cost $29.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
