'Biggest Loser' now a heavy hitter

In 2008, Ali Vincent won NBC's weight-loss competition "The Biggest Loser." Today, she hosts "Live Big With Ali Vincent" on the Live Well Network. This is not to say Vincent is an expert on rapid body transformation.

"My goal is to meet as many people as I can and let them know that the secret is there is no secret," says Vincent, who will appear Saturday at a wellness expo in Plantation. "It's taking action, taking one step at a time."

Since dropping from 234 pounds to 122 en route to becoming the show's first female winner — a fact she reiterates about every two minutes in conversation — Vincent regained 50 pounds. She's now trying to drop the weight, as documented on her show, which airs 5:30 p.m. Saturdays.

"I weighed 122 pounds for about 2.2 seconds of my life," she says. "I took a drink of water after I won, and I didn't weigh that again. But now, I'm at the point where, OK, I can lose a little more and be where I love being, or I can gain 30 pounds and be where I was at a terrible time in my life."

The Live Well South Florida Expo will take place from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Westfield Broward Mall, 8000 W. Broward Blvd., in Plantation. Go to WPLGExpo.com.
