Florida Lotto jackpot at $47M after four-month drought

Florida Lotto players are experiencing their second slump in as many years, and it’s close to tying a record.

No one has correctly picked the six numbers since Jan. 18, meaning there have been 34 draws without a big winner. The record is 35 drawings, from April 20 to Aug. 24, 2013. That jackpot grew to $59 million.

This jackpot is at $47 million.

While the state added Mega Millions last year, creating competition for players’ gambling dollars,Florida Lotto sales have remained strong, averaging almost $30 million per month.

The next drawing will take place at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.

For those who like drawing games with big money, Florida Lotto offers the best odds: 1 in 23 million, compared to 1 in 175 million for Powerball and 1 in 258 million for Mega Millions.
