School supply collection in Suffield

SUFFIELD - The Emergency Aid Association is collecting for the Return-to-School Backpack Program to assist low-income school age children living in Suffield. Last August, 129 filled backpacks were distributed to children and youth identified as eligible. Spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, calculators, page dividers, zippered binders, rulers, glue sticks, glue, erasers, pencil sharpeners, highlighters, scissors, index cards, folders, ruled paper, and pencil pouches/boxes are needed. Monetary donations are also welcome to provide for additional needs.

If you can help, please drop off your donations by Aug. 14, 2014 at the EAA located at 450 South St. in Suffield or at these other Suffield locations - Highland Park Market, Kent Memorial Library or the main Post Office. For more information, call 860-668-1986.
