Blue Lobster Festival—Windsor, Saturday, Aug. 16, 11:30 a.m. Leave RCC 12:30 p.m. Lunch. Approximate Return: 3 p.m. Cost of $22 includes Meal and transportation. Enjoy a day of live music, delicious lobster and great community spirit - all under big tents on the historic Windsor Town Green.

Glastonbury Senior Golf League continues at the Minnechaug Golf Course. Enjoy the splendor of late summer and early fall on the golf course with your friends! This league will run for 8 weeks (Sept. 2 – Oct. 21) on Tuesday mornings. Start times: 9 a.m. in September and 10 a.m. in October. Cost: $ 70 for walkers and $100 with cart. Register at the Riverfront Community Center.

Goodspeed Opera House presents "Fiddler on the Roof"Wednesday, Sept. 10, Leave RCC at 10:30 a.m. Approximate return: 6 p.m. Cost of $90 includes lunch, show and transportation.

"L'Chaim—To Life!" The international smash hit about Russian villagers and their universal longings—love, wealth, freedom, God and home – "Fiddler On the Roof" --makes its Goodspeed debut boasting the beloved songs "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset," and more. Before the show enjoy lunch at the Gelston House.

Bill's Seafood - Westbrook Wednesday, Aug. 20, 10:30 a.m. Leave RCC at 10:30 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m. lunch, return to RCC at 2 p.m. Cost is $7, transportation fee and lunch on own. Bill's Seafood is familiar territory to boaters who dock their boats in some of the finest marinas on the East Coast. Outside picnic tables on the edge of the Patchogue River, and a center bar/dining room with a nautical themed atmosphere.

Lenny & Joe's - Westbrook Thursday, Aug. 28, 10:30 a.m. Leave RCC at 10 a.m., lunch at 11:30 a.m., return to RCC at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $7, transportation fee and lunch on own. Famously fresh, fun and casual for over 34 years! Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale has the freshest seafood and a great family atmosphere.

Programs

River Quilters Saturday, Aug. 23, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Program Leader: Brenda Smaga. Bring your own supplies and machine and join other quilting enthusiasts for a day of quilting. This group will meet on the fourth Saturday of each month except in December.

Watercolor Classes Saturdays, Sept. 6 and 13, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Cost is $20 payable at registration. Instructor is Shannon Peterson. Supply fee is $10 per project payable to instructor. Come in and share your knowledge with each other while you complete, test and experiment with styles, and techniques.

Painting with Acrylics Saturdays, Sept. 6 and 20, 1 - 3 p.m. Cost is $20 payable at registration. Instructor is Priscilla Clesowich. Supply fee $15 per project payable to instructor. Choose your own picture that you would like to work on and transfer to canvas. Priscilla shares her techniques and passion for painting with you.

The Culinary Institute of America & FDR Home- Hyde Park, New York Monday, Aug. 25. Cost is $95. Departure at 7:30 a.m. Return approximately 6 p.m. Enjoy a five star dining experience at Caterina de Medici, a tour of the renowned culinary school and guided tour of the FDR home, Presidential Library and Museum. Please note: Dress Code required.

9/11 Memorial & family style lunch at Carmine's Tuesday, Sept. 30. Cost is $110. Depart at 7:30 a.m. Return approximately 6 p.m. The memorial design is defined by two reflecting pools, a grove of trees and the names of the 911 victims inscribed in bronze panels edging the Memorial pools, a powerful reminder of the unprecedented loss of life in an attack on U.S. soil. We will then travel 7 stories underground to the newly opened museum, followed by an afternoon lunch at the famous Italian restaurant, Carmine's.

Westchester Broadway Theatre presents "South Pacific" Thursday, Oct. 9. Cost is $97. Depart at 8:45 a.m. Approximate return 6 p.m. Travel to Elmsford, NY for a day of entertainment and fun. You will enjoy a matinee performance at the Westchester Broadway Theatre where lunch is included. You will receive a choice of entrée upon arrival. Following lunch enjoy the iconic performance of "South Pacific."

Lunch & Learn Series

The programs are open to Glastonbury residents and their guests. All programs begin promptly at 12:30 pm and reservations are not needed. If you want to come for lunch at noon, reservations are required and can be made by calling 860-652-7651 by 11:30 a.m., one business day prior to the desired meal.

Movies At the Riverfront Community Center

For the movie programs, popcorn and an iced beverage will be available. There is no charge for these programs and no reservations are needed. If you wish to recommend a movie, please complete a suggestion form in the senior Center office.
