Dec. 10: Gov. Rod Blagojevich arrested on federal corruption charges

In the early hours of the morning, the Illinois governor was awoken and arrested at his home in Ravenswood Manor on sweeping charges that he attempted to sell his office--and the former senate seat of Barack Obama--many times over. He was found guilty on 17 of 20 counts and sentenced in 2011 to 14 years in federal prison. Blagojevich reported to prison on March 15, 2012.
