"2 Broke Girls"
8:30 p.m. Sept. 19, CBS (moves to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 26)
Cast: Kat Dennings (left), Beth Behrs (right), Chicagoan Jonathan Kite, Garrett Morris, Matthew Moy
Premise: New York waitress Max (Dennings) dishes up coffee, apple pie and attitude in a Williamsburg diner where rich girl Caroline (Behrs) seeks employment after her Bernie Madoff-like father is tossed in jail and loses the family fortune. The odd couple moves in together and hilarity ensues.
Prognosis: Co-created by Michael Patrick King ("Sex and the City") and Whitney Cummings, this was one of the few new broadcast network sitcoms that made me laugh. I'll watch until the chuckles stop.
