Vulgar Boatmen January 7 at Schubas

The electro-pop duo, which experienced a mini breakthrough when its song "Bruises" appeared in a 2008 ad for the iPod Nano, is currently reading for the Jan. 24 release of its sophomore album, "Something." Not that the pair hasn't kept itself busy in the interim; drummer/keyboardist Patrick Wimberly produced five tracks on Das Racist's excellent new album, "Relax," while singer Caroline Polachek has turned up on cuts by everyone from Washed Out ("You and I") to local DJ duo Flosstradamus ("Big Bills").
