Don't see any new movies that make you want to go to the theater? How about an old one?
On Oct. 3 you can see Steven Spielberg's "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial" on the big screen, which is something you probably haven't done/don't remember doing unless you were above the age of 5 or so in 1982. Showings will include a taped feature that showcases nuggets such as how Spielberg came up with the idea for the film and what "E.T." now means to co-star Drew Barrymore. That feature assumedly does not include Barrymore's feelings about if Abby Elliott's dead-on impression of her threatened to render Barrymore obsolete.
Go to FathomEvents.com for more information about tickets and participating theaters. We still get countless movies about aliens every year, but few are as loved and affecting as Spielberg's classic. If you're one of the few people who have never seen this movie, that really should change now. If you are afraid to leave your house for fear of actual aliens, the movie also comes out Oct. 9 on Blu-ray.
