Shawn Hatosy, "Southland"

Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series <br> With so many worthy male performances on TNT's police drama (Ben McKenzie, Michael Cudlitz, Kevin Alejandro), Emmy voters may have been confused about which way to go. (More likely, they didn't pay attention in the first place.) Hatosy stood out this season, as his Det. Sammy Bryant dealt with his ruined marriage, the possibility that he is not the father of his wife's baby and, most strikingly, the death of his partner. It was difficult to watch Sammy struggle, but so worth the effort.
