In May, comedy fans finally got their new season of "Arrested Development" on Netflix. But why stop there?
We've been waiting for a Flight of the Conchords tour for years, and even longer for a legitimate Dave Chappelle stand-up tour. Thanks for Funny or Die, we're going to see them both, together, on the same tour.
The comedy website announced Monday its first-ever live tour, called "Funny Or Die Presents The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival," which will hit 13 cities this summer, including and Aug. 31 stop at the First Midwest Bank Ampitheater in Tinley Park.
Chappelle and Flight of the Conchords are headlining, with Hannibal Buress, Kristen Schaal, Al Madrigal, Demetri Martin, John Mulaney, Brody Stevens, Jim Jefferies and Chris D'Elia also performing.
The tour continues Chappelle's return to high-profile touring. After walking away from Comedy Central's "Chappelle's Show" in 2003, he has performed comedy only occasionally. But in February her appeared with Chris Rock, Kevin Hart and others at The Comedy Cellar in New York for a series of impromptu shows. On Monday, he kicked off a swing through the southern U.S. that has him performing several shows.
"The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival" will feature "two stages, street performers, vendors, psychics, freaks, tasty treats and more," according to Funny or Die. It's the site's first large-scale tour. Tickets for the shows go on sale at 9 a.m. CT Friday at livenation.com or www.funnyordie.com/oddball.
