Chicago open auditions set for 'The Glee Project'

Oxygen has yet to announce a Season 2 of the reality series “The Glee Project,” but as they say in showbiz—the show must go on. Or in this case, pre-production if the show gets picked up.

Officials, including casting director Robert Ulrich, will be in Chicago Sunday and Monday for open auditions. “The Glee Project”” Season 1 winner, Samuel Larsen, also is scheduled to make appearances.

Those hoping to audition should visit http://thegleeproject.oxygen.com to pre-register. Here are additional details if you are interested in auditioning.

WHAT: Oxygen’s open casting call for “The Glee Project” in Chicago on November 6 & 7.
WHEN: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 6 and 7
WHERE: McCormick Place Convention Center, 2301 S. Lake Shore Dr. Go to South Hall, Floors 4 & 5and you will receive directions

REQUIREMENTS:
Singularly talented young men and women with strong vocal, acting and dancing abilities with big, oversized personalities
Musical theater experience is a plus, but not required
At least 18 years of age but able to convincingly portray the role of a teenager
Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
Available for production in or about January through April 2012 and be willing to travel as part of production.

Performers can choose from a wide variety of songs to audition with including “Ordinary People” by John Legend, “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga, “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, “Drops of Jupiter” by Train, “Unchained Melody” by the Righteous Brothers, “Before He Cheats” by Carrie Underwood, “This Kiss” by Faith Hill and “Out Here on My Own” by Irene Cara from the movie “Fame.”
