Mario Tennis Open

Nintendo 3DS)
2 1/2 stars out of 4
For a short, pudgy plumber, Mario boasts an insane amount of athletic ability. Who else could hop over pits of lava, drive a Kart racer and now hit forehand shots down the line like Roger Federer? OK, so "Mario Tennis Open" isn't about realism or being a tennis sim. It's instead focused on providing a simple, easy sports experience with the addition of some Mario-related charm. The shallowness of the single player mode keeps "Mario Tennis Open" from qualifying as an ace, but if you have a friend to play with, this one is a winner.
