3 songs I love by Lisa Frame
New: "Pharaohs," SBTRKT
Confession: I have the biggest crush on SBTRKT, the London-based musician, and I have never seen his face! (He--or she--wears a tribal mask when performing.) I get butterflies, tingles and feel dizzy whenever I listen to their mega track "Pharaohs." It's moody and dance-y with the perfect dash of soul. If I were to show you how many times I've played this song since I've added it to my Spotify playlists you¿d be embarrassed for me. I say: It's love!
Old: "Superstition," Stevie Wonder
As a Detroit native I was raised on super delicious Motown. My absolute favorite song though is "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. I honestly don't trust anyone who doesn't bop their head after hearing the opening drum beat and bass riff. It's just so darn good.
Best song to brew coffee to: "On & On," Longpigs
My favorite kind of songs are the ones that seem to fit your current life soundtrack at any given time. That's how I feel about "On & On." It can be a song that makes me smile, cry or feel inspired to get rad that day. It's the perfect song to brew coffee to, especially on (Mugshot) Mondays because it's exactly what I need, whatever that may be, on that given morning.
