2012 Summer Music Preview

No, we didn't feel the need to preview summer's biggest albums just because Chris Brown's dropping a new record. (Note: His May 8 release date has been bumped to July 3.) In fact, the next few months pack plenty of highly anticipated releases from non-terrible people. That includes Fiona Apple, Nas and Tenacious D, plus a full-length from Kimbra, the promising female voice on Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know," and a new Smashing Pumpkins effort, recorded during Billy Corgan's break from wrestling or alienating his fans or whatever it is he's up to now. With that, some of the discs we can't wait to hear, plus a few we don't actually care about but know could be widely discussed anyway. -- RedEye Sound Board
