'Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy'

Unless you find the subject of spies fascinating no matter what they're actually doing, this adaptation of the much-loved John Le Carre novel puts you so far from the motives and stakes that you have an appreciation for what's happening without these people knowing or accomplishing anything at all. Great cinematography, though.
