Police arrest pair on drug charges on Chestnut Oak Road

Baltimore County Police arrested two men on multiple drug distribution charges Tuesday, Aug. 9, in an apartment in the 8500 block of Chestnut Oak Road in the Ridgeleigh neighborhood ofTowson.

Keon Quantay Lambert, 23, of the address, and Denorris Donte Evans, 27, of the 3000 block of Grayson Street, were arrested after police executed a search warrant on the location. Police said Lambert was charged with four drug-related offenses, and Evans was charged with 12.

Police opened the investigation after receiving multiple complaints about drug activity, police spokesman Cathy Batton said. In the course of the investigation, police allege that Evans sold drugs to undercover officers. Scales, a grinder and undisclosed amounts of marijuana and crack cocaine were discovered, according to Batton.

It is the second drug-related offense in the building in 14 months. Police had not been to that apartment before, but went to a different apartment in the same building on June 22, 2010.

Councilman David Marks commended county police for the arrest.

"Ridgeleigh is a very nice neighborhood with both original homeowners and young families, but Chestnut Oak Road has always been a problem," Marks said. "I'm glad the police took action."

Evans and Lambert are both out on bail, with Evans posting $250,000 and Lambert $150,000.
