Police say Parkton man solicited sex after meeting teen on Facebook

Baltimore County Police have charged a Parkton-area man with sexual solicitation of a minor and an attempted sex offense, saying the man solicited an undercover detective for sex.

Police say they began investigating Rahn Freeland, 26, of the unit block of Foreston Valley Court, after he allegedly established a relationship with a 14-year-old girl who lives within the Towson Precinct.

Police said that in August 2011, the girl began receiving Facebook messages from a man who saw her picture on Facebook. She told the suspect that she was 14 and he told her that he was 20 years old.

In February, she met the suspect and realized he was much older than he had originally told her, police said.

According to the police statement, the girl stopped responding to his messages, but the man continued to contact her. She notified her parents, who reported the situation to police at the Towson Precinct on March 6.

Police said that using the victim's account, a detective began communicating with the man — and he solicited the undercover detective for sex. Police said Freeland was arrested on March 12 when he arrived at a location in Towson to allegedly meet the victim for a sexual encounter.

Police said the suspect was using a Facebook page with the name "Rahn Corleone" to contact the victim — and detectives.

Police Det. Cathy Batton told the Towson Times on Friday that police already have indications that the Facebook page was used to contact other underage girls, and they are concerned there may be additional victims.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Baltimore County Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit at 410-853-3650.

Police said Freeland is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
