Lane to be closed two months as part of Charles Street project in Towson

The Maryland State Highway Authority announced Monday that the right lane of northbound Route 139 (Charles Street) between the Joppa Road overpass and Kenilworth Drive in Towson will be closed for two months, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 2.

Construction crews will be widening the northbound Charles Street approach to the intersection, which is south of the Charles Street Interchange and the Baltimore Beltway, according to the news release.

The 24-hour lane closure will be in effect for approximately eight weeks, weather permitting, the release said. Drivers are urged to allow for extra travel time going northbound on Charles Street during peak travel hours.
