Port's 'fun buns' is over, but 'energy class' has begun

The first ever "Fun Buns" class at the VFW Post 8185 finished up its eight-week course Saturday, but instructor Cindi Lamb Wiley will begin a new "Energy Class" on Monday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. again at the Port Deposit VFW, 520 Susquehanna River Road. This class is for men and women and Cindi says "no jumping and no floorwork." The session runs from March 25 to April 29 and a $3 donation is requested for each class. Call Cindi, 443-731-1131, or just show up.

Traditionally, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Water Witch Fire Company sponsors three fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for the fire company. The first fundraiser for 2013 was held Saturday night – a basket bingo at the VFW Post 8185. Ironically, there was a fire call that evening at the south end of town and a few of the kitchen ladies left the bingo to take water to the firemen at the scene of the working fire. Thanks to Carrie McCall and Cindy Bare for doing "double duty."
