The first session of "Fun Buns" (an exercise class for men and women 55 and older) was held at the VFW Post 8185, 520 Susquehanna River Road, on Saturday. The eight-week class is sponsored by Cecil County Senior Services and Community Transit. Instructor Cindi Lamb led Saturday's class to music from the '60s and '70s, including classic rock, disco, pop and Motown tunes. She invites all ages to "just show up" and work out with no jumping and no floor work. The sessions will start at 10 a.m. each Saturday and will run through March 30. Oh, and it's free. What a nail-biter Sunday, when the Baltimore Ravens triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31, thereby earning Ray Lewis his second Super Bowl ring. Congratulations to the Ravens and hearty thanks to the many fans who have been "painting the town purple" in support of our home team.
There was a lot of purple in sight at the Super Bowl Party Sunday in the Carriage House on South Main Street. Sponsored by the Port Deposit Chamber of Commerce, it served as an early fundraiser for town projects.
At the opposite end of town, Port's VFW sponsored its annual Super Bowl Party with plenty of food provided by Pit Stop Pit Beef.

The Knights of Columbus Council 2002 will serve its annual Fish Fry each Friday in Lent in Cifaldo Hall, Good Shepherd School, 810 Aiken Ave., Perryville, from 4 until 7 p.m. starting on Friday, Feb. 15. Three options will be offered: fish dinner for $6, steamed shrimp dinner for $10 and combo fish and shrimp dinner for $10. Because of scheduling conflicts, the Fish Fry on Friday, March 8 will be moved to St. Joan of Arc's hall in Aberdeen.
