For the second day in a row in Bristol, Conn., the Perryville Little League softball all-stars had no offense to speak of and lost in East Region play.
Pennsylvania pitcher Morgan Ryan limited the locals to just one hit and one walk, while striking out seven over five innings to lead Pennsylvania to a 9-0 win. Carly White had Perryville's lone hit and Emily Phillips drew the walk off Ryan. Morgan Bellush threw one inning in relief for Pennsylvania, allowing a single to Ellen Little for Perryville's only other hit.
Perryville starting pitcher Virginia Lewis took the loss, allowing three runs in her three-plus innings of split time in the circle. Lewis yielded seven hits and one walk and also struck out three.
Phillips threw an inning and a third of relief, giving up six runs on four hits and two walks, before giving the ball back to Lewis in the fifth.
Pennsylvania led 2-0 entering the fifth inning but blew the game wide open with a seven-run rally. Of their 11 hits, four were doubles.
