Perryville celebrates birthdays, anniversaries

My goodness it is hard to believe it is July already. Half the year is over. Welcome to summertime!

It's that time again to mark your calendars for the 2012 Cecil County Fair to be held July 20 to 28 in Fair Hill.

The 5th annual benefit 5K run/walk "Walk for Life" will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 on the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail. This event is to benefit Alpha's Glory. Online registration at Onsite registration will be held at 8 a.m.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church will hold Vacation Bible School July 9 to 13 from ages 4 through fifth grades, 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

An evening concert with Charlie Zahm, Tad Marks and Steve Hobson will be held on Friday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Tickets are $10 for adults and free for children under 16. St. Paul's Lutheran Church will host Martha's Meal at Grove Presbyterian Church on July 19.

The Upper Chesapeake Choir will hold weekly practice at St. Paul's Evangelical Church at 6 p.m. on July 2, 16, 23 and 30.

Havre de Grace Elks Club dates to remember: Breakfasts Sundays July 8 and 15; bingo, July 11, 18 and 25; dinners, July 20, steak in the main hall, July 27, Italian subs in the lounge (with music), both 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Worthy Grand Matron and the Worthy Grand Patron and the Grand Officers of 2012-2013 continue their journey around the state with several grand visitations, to Odenton Chapter 29, Freedom Chapter 87 and Parkton Chapter 42.
