Woman says she was raped at Coakley's

A woman told Havre de Grace police she was raped at Coakley's Pub on Saturday night.

She did not report the incident until Monday night, Julie Lawton, of the Havre de Grace Police, said Thursday.

The woman, who is 24 years old and a Louisiana resident temporarily in Havre de Grace, said she was at Coakley's with some friends late Saturday night.

She said she started talking with a man at the bar, then left and went to the bathroom.

"While she was in the ladies room, he managed to get into the door," Lawton said. "He forced her to perform oral sex and then raped her. People started banging on the door, then … he opened the door and ran out."

The suspect is described only as a white Hispanic male between the ages of 28 and 33, with a heavy build, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, and wearing a short-sleeve shirt.
