Armed home invasion reported in Havre de Grace

Havre de Grace police are investigating an armed home invasion in the Battery Village area early Thursday morning.

Residents in the 400 block of Village Drive told police two men, both with handguns, forced their way into the home at about 1:19 a.m. through a back door, police spokesman Jeff Gilpin said.

"The suspects then demanded money while assaulting two adult victims," Gilpin said.

The victims said they did not know their attackers, who had run off in an unknown direction by the time police arrived. A search using police dogs did not yield any results.

The victims had visible injuries but refused medical treatment, Gilpin said.

One attacker is described as a white man, between 6 feet, 3 inches and 6 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 170 to 185 pounds and wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The other is a black man about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing between 150 and 165 pounds, wearing the same type of clothing and a mask.

An estimated value of items stolen was not available. Police had no suspects Thursday morning.
