Arrests made in November Havre de Grace assault

An Edgewood man and woman were arrested recently in connection with the assault of a Havre de Grace man Nov. 3 that left him in serious condition. One of the suspects is the victim's son.

Charmin Lezette Jacobs, 42, and Dwayne Cecil Webb Jr., 21, both of the 1800 block of Brookside Drive in Edgewood, were charged with first-degree and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first-degree and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Jacobs was also charged with false imprisonment.

They were arrested Dec. 13 at their home on Brookside Drive on arrest warrants issued by the Havre de Grace Police Department.

A third suspect, Lawrence Brendan Gannon, 19, of the 2700 block of Beckon Drive, also has an active arrest warrant for the same charges. Gannon was still at large Wednesday.

Jacobs, Webb and Gannon are charged in the assault of Dwayne Webb Sr., who was found lying unconscious on the ground in the 100 block of Deaver Street in Havre de Grace at about 8:20 p.m. on Nov. 3. The senior Webb is the father of Dwayne Webb Jr., police said.

Webb Sr. was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore following the assault.

According to the limited information that officers have obtained, the assault occurred as a result of an ongoing argument between the victim and suspects.

Webb's condition is unknown at this time, Havre de Grace Officer Jeff Gilpin said Wednesday.

Jacobs posted $50,000 bond and was released from jail, and Webb Jr. posted $75,000 bond and was released, according to state online court records.
