Havre de Grace Chapter 27 Order of the Eastern Star honored its deputy grand lecturer, Sister Corine Lewis, at its last meeting. Worthy Matron Sister Carolyn Mathias presented a program on lights and wishes and presented Sister Corine with a bunch of yellow roses.
"O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree." Well, it is that time again folks. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in the lot adjacent to Rodgers Tavern will be Dec. 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. There will be caroling, Santa Claus, crafts for sale and light refreshments.
Calling all crafters to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen for a holiday bazaar on Saturday Dec. 7. The bazaar will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Anyone interested in selling crafts should call Becky at the St. Paul's office, 410-272-3111. This event is in conjunction with the Upper Chesapeake Chorus.
St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aberdeen will host a Christmas Concert by the world renowned singer-songwriter Charlie Zahm on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, children under 16 are free. A variety quarter auction will be held today (Friday) at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall to benefit St. Paul's Women's Spring Retreat. Included are homemade and handmade, gift cards from local merchants and vendors including Longaberger, Stampin' Up, Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay and others. Doors open at 6 p.m., auction starts at 7 p.m. Food and drinks will be available. Paddles are $2 each, with a maximum of two. Bring a canned good and/or non-perishable for bonus prize ticket. Bring your quarters and have some fun.
