North County Crime Log: Nanny surprised in house by man, later discovers cash stolen

The following is compiled from police reports from the Cockeysville Precinct. Our policy is to include descriptions only when there is enough information to make identification possible.


Delbarton Drive, 15800 block, between 8:20 a.m. and 8:22 a.m. July 26. A 33-year-old woman who is employed as a nanny was upstairs when she heard the family dog barking. She went downstairs to the kitchen where she found a man who said he was a friend of the homeowner. The man, who entered the residence through an unlocked garage door, then left. She later discovered cash was missing from her purse. She described him as a heavyset white male between 25 and 35 years old, 6 feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt, dark shorts and white shoes.


Paper Mill Road, 2500 block, between 1 a.m. July 14 and 5:20 p.m. July 28. Eight ratchet straps and a 4-ton winch stolen from trailer parked on property.

Doe Court, unit block and Stag Court, unit block, between 2 p.m. July 29 and 10:22 a.m. July 30. Several unlocked vehicles were entered and ransacked. Unknown if any items were stolen.

Donerin Way, 3800 block, between 6 p.m. Aug. 1 and 5 a.m. Aug. 3. Cash stolen. Entry through unlocked door.


Shandall Court, 19200 block, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. July 30. Money stolen from bedroom dresser drawer and all bedrooms ransacked. Entry by breaking glass panel on door and reaching in to unlock door.

Masemore Road, 17900 block, between July 1 and July 27. Air conditioner stolen from vacant house.


Falls Road, 18100 block, at 9:41 p.m. Aug. 2. Two while males were seen leaving an open garage and driving away in a black Hyundai SUV. Nothing was taken from garage, but photographs were taken of footprints found on garage floor.

Gunpowder Road, 18100 block, between Oct. 1 and Aug. 8. Rifle and two welders stolen from unlocked barn.
