West Laurel: Bond Mill Elementary students celebrate the season with music

Bond Mill Elementary School presented its Winter Concert on Dec. 7. Fourth and fifth-grade choral and instrumental students performed for a full house in the auditorium, and the holiday spirit was high.

Teachers Rolanda Brown, Patrick Fitzgerald and Sheila Ryan prepared the students for this amazing evening of chorus, instrumental and hand bell concerts. Barron Darby, Riya Patel, James Pringle, Alicia Vasquez, Jordan Rose and Enrique Watson wowed the crowd with hand bells, playing "Frosty the Snowman" and "Winter Wonderland."

The chorus got the audience rockin' with "Rock n' Roll Snowman" and "Santa's Getting Fit for Christmas," with snowman Alexander Akore and Santa Robby Kunze.

Soloists Aubrie Wilson, Audrey Collins, Alondra Castillo, Emily Velez, Lilly Schweiss and Chandler Nelson performed "Do Di Li," to the delight of parents, family and friends.

Warren and Lauren Hill proudly announce that their son, Christopher Hill, graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Dec. 16 with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology. Mom, Dad and sister Erika are so very happy and proud.

I wish all of our neighbors who have celebrated many Christmases here in West Laurel, as well as those who are new and are just starting to make cherished memories here, a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous New Year.
