Arrests in Baltimore for illegal guns often lead to dropped charges or little jail time

Parade and Laurel Armory illumination help kick off the holiday season

Laurel Parks and Recreation's annual Holiday Parade begins at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, and continues on Montgomery Street from Sandy Spring Road to the Laurel Armory Anderson and Murphy Community Center, at 422 Montgomery St.

Special guest Santa will arrive for the illumination of the armory's holiday lights, then all are invited into the armory for visits and photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Frosty, and Rudolph.

The festivities also feature live entertainment, and the city's canteen will serve hot chocolate, hot cider and cookies.
